Oral HealthText Box: It is an accepted fact that if the ORAL HEALTH is neglected and not taken care of promptly, it can result in tooth loss or decay, which means visits to the dentist. A recent research has shown a strong positive association between oral health status and systemic health involving the cardiovascular and other general body systems. The research confirms the association between periodontal infections, untreated caries and cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, diabetes and even in many cases some complications in pregnancy.

Poster exhibitions carrying information about ill effects of various forms of tobacco use were organized with the help of the local CSOs, especially for school children in higher grades. 
Text Box: Seminar on Oral Cancer for school children:
Seminars on oral cancer and pre cancer for 50 school children and teachers were conducted regularly in the Town Halls of Tehsil Head quarters of the afore-mentioned districts. Main objective was to educate the participants on the causative agents of oral cancer and to train them to recognize the potentially dangerous lesions. Such training would enable them to carryout self-examinations and also to examine their close relatives for potentially malignant lesions. Early identification and treatment of potentially malignant lesions have a pronounced impact on the treatment outcome.
Text Box: SOCIAL EVOLUTION ORGANIZATIONText Box: Free Dental Camps to provide free treatments in rural South Punjab (Khanewal and Jhang Districts) in association with Lever Brothers Pakistan
Mobile Dental Clinics were held in rural areas for the benefit of under privileged villages and children. These were carried out once a month . 
More than 500 patients were treated in each camp. An oral health educational programme based on lectures and demonstrations was also conducted to an audience of about 1500 villages, to educate on caries, periodontal disease and oral cancer. 
Prevention of AidsText Box: Advocacy walks on prevention of HIV/AIDS on National AIDS Day
SEO held advocacy walks on prevention of HIV/AIDS on National AIDS Day 2008 in above mentioned districts. These advocacy walks were held to advocate on the methods of prevention and control of AIDS. The teams of SEO along with our volunteers from those communities arranged these walks.
Text Box: Open Air Seminar on Oral Diseases for School children in Association with Lever Brothers Pakistan:
400 school children were invited for a half-day seminar on common oral disease. Dental caries, periodontal disease and Oral Cancer were the main subject areas discussed.
